18th Joint Working Group meeting on border management and security between India and Bangladesh

Bangladesh side recalled Indian contribution to the Liberation War of Bangladesh in 1971 . Both sides had productive talks on border security and common security concerns .

New Delhi, India, December 6: On the sidelines of the No Money For Terror Conference in New Delhi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah led the India delegation led by Additional Secretary, Ministry of Home Affairs Piyush Goyal, and Bangladesh delegation led by AK Mukhlesur Rahman, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of Bangladesh.During that meeting, both sides had productive talks on border security and common security concerns.Following on from the meeting between the two ministers last month, both sides highlighted the excellent bilateral links between the two countries at Tuesday's meeting.In the meeting, the Bangladesh side reiterated its commitment to deepen and strengthen bilateral cooperation in security and border-related matters.The Bangladesh side recalled the Indian contribution to the Liberation War of Bangladesh in 1971.The Bangladesh side reiterated its commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation in combating insurgency, organised crime, and smuggling.
