2 college students detained with 25 lakh in narcotics from a club

Kolkata: Two second-year students from a south KOlkata college were apprehended with MDMA (Ecstasy) party drugs worth Rs 25 lakh by the Special Task Force of Kolkata Police.On Wednesday night, the raid took place in a restaurant at Tiljala, off the EM Bypass-Park Circus Connector.Following a tip-off, STF officers searched the club and arrested two men, Vikas Tiwari (21), a resident of Jessore Road near Salt Lake, and Aryaman Poddar (20), a resident of New Town.We confiscated a polythene packet containing MDMA tablets weighing around 245gm during the raid, which was carried out around 10.20 p.m.

The two were arrested, according to joint CP (STF) Solomon V Nesakumar.The accused were arrested before the NDPS Court on Thursday with a request for police protection.This was an offence by two men who had no association with the club.It is impossible to track down every patron and what they are taking with them.
