Raipur: On Wednesday night, Maoists targeted a newly established police camp in Dantewada, injuring two women laborers and two Chhattisgarh Armed Force troops, deep within a forest overlooking the Bailadila hills, some 50 kilometers from district headquarters.It follows a pattern of Maoist hit-and-run attacks on new security camps.It's the third such assault in three months.On April 18, four security forces were shot in a camp in Bijapur district and three CRPF soldiers were wounded in an attack on a camp in Elmaguda on March 21, the first such attack to strike civilians within a camp.The Hiroli camp is so new that construction is also ongoing, which is why laborers were caught in the line of fire.

Soon, gunshots surrounded the area.According to Dantewada SP Siddharth Tiwari, the Maoists fired over a dozen barrel-launched grenade shells, and half a dozen exploded.The CAF and District Reserve Guards retaliated, leading to a half-hour exchange of gunfire, and the Maoists retreated, according to SP.They are all in danger.
