32 DHHs and 7 medical schools will obtain rooftop solar power systems

Scheme is part of the Odisha Renewable Energy Development Agencys (OREDA) programme . The state government will install rooftop solar power plants at seven medical colleges and 32 district headquarters hospitals .

Bhubaneswar (Bhubaneswar): The state government will install rooftop solar power plants at seven medical colleges and 32 district headquarters hospitals (DHHs).The scheme is part of the Odisha Renewable Energy Development Agency's (OREDA) programme.The department of health and family welfare has requested that the director of health services (DHS) and the director of medical education and training (DMET) have provided consolidated building-wise information needed to finalize the solar capacity required for participation in the project for the construction of grid-connected solar rooftop power plants.Roof solar projects will be developed under RESCO's proposed SuBaH (Suns Blessings and Health) program to not only provide green energy to the health facilities, but also reduce electricity consumption.

In an official communication to the health department, we are currently assessing the site-wise appropriate capacity for different buildings based on the available roof area, the energy consumption pattern, and legislative requirements to please bidders.SCB Medical College and Hospital, Cuttack, MKCG Medical College and Hospital, Berhampur, Vimsar, Burla, Fakir Mohan Medical College and Hospital, Balasore, and SLN Medical College and Hospital, Koraput are among the medical colleges.
