4 students in Karnataka are suspended for wearing a burqa

Four students at Karnataka college suspended for dancing in their burqa . The suspension came as a result of a social media video of the four students dancing to a Bollywood number .

Mangaluru (Karnataka) India — On December 9, four students at a Karnataka college were suspended for dancing in their burqa, according to an official.The suspension came as a result of a social media video of the four students dancing to a Bollywood number.They were dressed in long, loose clothing covering them from head to toe, called burqa.The institute authorities also published a media statement on Thursday, citing a part of the dance by students of the muslim community themselves who barged on stage during an informal part of the students association inaugural.The students involved have been suspended pending investigation.

On the other hand, principal in-charge Dr. Sudheer M issued a statement to the media.More information is being sought.
