41 SUVs that were taken around the nation have been found.

Six people arrested in Rae Bareli, Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, on Friday . Police recovered 11 stolen SUVs valued at Rs 5 crore .

After altering the model's chassis and registration information, Rae Bareli police arrested a gang of six people who were involved in selling stolen high-end SUVs smuggled into UP from various parts of the country on Friday.The recovered SUVs were valued at Rs 5 crore and one belonging to Ram Babu, a professor at Delhi University, was among the vehicles recovered.The stolen vehicles were being sold at throwaway prices in Rae Bareli, Hardoi, and Lucknow.A Mercedes, five Hyundai Creta, six Honda City, six Honda Amaze, two Chevrolet Cruze, six Maruti Brezza, four Maruti Ertiga, and 11 other cars were among the vehicles retrieved.

They were arrested near Gorabazzar area of the Kotwali police station district.According to SP, Rae Bareli, Alok Priyadarshi, more SUVs are in the possession of six other members of the same band who are also on the loose.Priyadarshi explained that the gang used well-oiled equipment and aides to search for targets.They would first buy accident-plagued cars that were deemed total loss by the insurance companies after a spot inspection, as per their program.

These cars then were sold to gullible customers with altered registration and chassis numbers.According to Priyadarshi, the gang also modified the ECN and identification code of the stolen cars by grinding.
