48,368 new properties are identified by KMC for tax assessment

Kanpur (Kanpur):Up to 48,368 new properties have been identified in 17 wards of the city, and KMC has earned Rs 35 crore in house tax from those property owners.There are 110 wards in the city boundary, and the last inspection of properties in all 110 wards was conducted in 2006.According to municipal commissioner Shivasharanappa GN, a census of the remaining 93 wards will be conducted soon.There are currently about 4, 65000 households in the district from which the KMC collects house tax of about rupees two billion and 30 crore.According to him, about one lakh new properties will be discovered as a result of the tax deduction.

According to the municipal commissioner, more than 50,000 homes have been converted from residential to commercial, and their owners are still paying a residential tax that is lower than the commercial tax.The zonal officers have been told to complete the investigation within a week.Around 35,000 properties have been spotted that are outside the tax bracket.Once KMC is included in the tax net, it will earn Rs 23 crore more.
