RAIPUR: In a short span of time, more than 50 people were killed in a mysterious illness in a remote village in Bastar, Chhattisgarh, causing fear in the nearby villages.Though local news reports put the death toll in Regdagatta village at 61 over a six-month period, the administration reports that there were 50-52 deaths over the course of two years.It is also sad to hear that 50 people in a village of 800 died without their families knowing what killed them.The disease causes swelling of the feet and legs, as well as nausea, but a precise cause has not been determined yet.
