5,019 cows in Himachal Pradesh have died from lumpy skin disease.

In nine districts in Himalaya, 87,645 animals were discovered to be suffering from the lumpy skin disease . Almost 9 cow deaths have been recorded in the state, while 45,425 animals have been cured .

SHIMLA (Shorthand): In nine districts in Himalaya, 87,645 animals were discovered to be suffering from the lumpy skin disease on Thursday.Almost 9 cow deaths have been recorded in the state, while 45,425 animals have been cured.The infection rate of the disease in the state is 3.25%, while the death rate is close to 5%, according to the Animal Husbandry Department.The state's total number of animals that are vulnerable to the disease is 24,00,638.

He said that disease-resistant vaccination was being carried out within a 5-kilometer radius of the affected areas, and that so far 2,37,748 cows have been vaccinated.In all districts, adequate antibiotics are available for the treatment of sick animals.He said that a central team had also visited Bilaspur on September 12 and Una on September 13 to assess the situation.
