PATNA: On Friday, Congress officials and staff hit the roads in the capital as part of the party's national rally against the Centre for price hikes, unemployment, and GST on food items.Former Congress members marched to Raj Bhavan before being arrested by police, led by their state president Madan Mohan Jha.Outside Sadaquat Ashram, Congress workers could be seen carrying placards and shouting slogans against the NDA government at the base.They were apprehended by the police just 500 meters from the party's headquarters.

The district administration was blamed for detaining Congress representatives and staff, according to Jha.Besides price increase and poverty, the opposition was also against the BJP-led Central government's undemocratic structure, according to Shakeel Ahmad Khan, a member of the Kadwa MLA group.The government is obstructing all departments of government to denigrate opposition leaders' image.They should know that opposition plays a vital role in democracy, he said.
