Patiala, Pakistan: Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) has launched a campaign to combat power theft that includes raids and fines.It checked 3,035 connections relating to high loss feeders on May 13 and 14 and ordered Rs 88.18 lakh fine on 584 consumers.Out of those cases, 120 were caused by electricity theft and 464 other offenses or violations.The raiding team discovered the entire load of 29.278 kilowatts bypassing the meter outside the house at Dera Sarhala near Jentipur, in Udoke subdivision (Amritsar).For power theft, Daera Baba Lal Singh Bhai Roopa (Rampura Phul) was sentenced to Rs 5.12 lakh.
