INDORES INDORE: On Friday evening, the newly elected Mayor of Indore Municipal Corporation Pushyamitra Bhargav, joined by 63 Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) corporators and an independent candidate, with collector Manish Singh presided over the proceedings at Abhay Prashal Indoor Stadium.The remaining 19 Congress corporators stayed at a distance and did not attend the oath taking ceremony, the party announced on Thursday, citing the event as nothing but the waste of the public exchequer.For personal reasons, a BJP corporator from Ward-26 Lalbahadur and an independent candidate from Ward-2 Fatma Khan were also absent.State BJP president VD Sharma, State Minister for Housing and Urban Development Bhupendra Singh, State Minister for Higher Education Mohan Yadav, and state minister for culture and tourism Usha Thakur among others were on hand.
