A CEO roundtable on sustainable tourism is organised by the ministry of tourism.

New Delhi, India, November 25, 2009: On Friday, the Ministry of Tourism, in association with the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) and the Responsible Tourism Society of India (RTSOI), held a CEO round table on Sustainable Tourism.The round table was held to raise awareness of industry leaders on national and international priorities for sustainable tourism, as well as sharing and promoting best practices on sustainable tourism.According to Arvind Singh, India should take the lead in responsible tourism at the right time.Participants in the round table reviewed and merged with the following three important initiatives on Sustainable Tourism, which were approved by participants, with the intention of optimizing sustainable consumption and production (SCP) in tourism policies and practices in order to overcome the triple planetary crisis and accelerate low-carbon, climate resilient, and green economic transformation of the tourism sector, according to the official release.
