Chandigarh: Days after Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann reported that gangster Goldy Brar was arrested in California, an interview of the gangster surfaced online on Monday, claiming that Brar was not detained and that he would definitely be sent to India.Mr Mann had told reporters that he would be in the custody of the Punjab Police very shortly.Nonetheless, Goldy Brar denied these allegations in a shambles ad dated video shared with a journalist on YouTube.The authenticity of the interview was unsure either by Press Trust of India or by Associated Press.
In the audio clip of the interview, he could be heard contradicting Manns allegations about his detention.Goldy Brar was the alleged mastermind behind the assassination of singer Sidhu Moosewala in May this year, and the opposition parties have chastised him for this.Bhagwant Mann had accused the Punjab Police chief of lying to people and said he did not trust the chief minister's statement.On Monday, Shamani Akali Dal spokesperson Arshdeep Singh Kaler slammed SAD leader Majithia for defending a famous gangsters story and questioning the Punjab Chief Minister's statement on Goldy Brar's detention, claiming that the singer's brutal murder was homicide.As revenge for the murder of Vicky Middukheras, a youth Akali leader, a red corner notice was issued against him.
