Delhi MCD elections held December 7 . BJP won 134 out of 250 wards, Congress secured 9 wards, while three independents picked up three .
New Delhi, December 7, 2015: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) dominated the Delhi Municipal Corporation for the most part in the national capitals civic body polls, uprooting the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for 15 years, winning 134 out of the total 250 wards.Congress secured 9 wards, while three wards were picked up by independents. Many thanks to the Delhi community for this spectacular victory, and a big thank you to all.According to AAP national convenor and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, we must now work together to keep Delhi clean and beautiful.
Under Arvind Kejriwal's leadership, the Delhi people have given us a huge responsibility to keep Delhi clean and beautiful.Let us all work together to make Delhi the best city in the country.Aam Aadmi Party is a group that has forged its association with Delhi MCD.Delhi's people secured a veto over Arvind Kejriwal, the world's largest and most volatile party. Party workers gathered in front of the office and applauded party leader Arvind Kejriwal as the party led in the initial trends for nearly one and a half hours before the final results were declared. Both the parties held on to hope as the counting began at 8 a.m., with the BJP claiming to win the elections for the fourth time, and the AAP expressing optimism about winning the elections. The BJP has now learned that Delhi's voters are determined by those who work rather than by those who criticize.Although the BJP fielded its MPs, Ministers, the CBI, and the ED, Delhi's population still voted for the AAP.For the charges pressed against Kejriwal, the people have responded in a fitting way. However, the low voter turnout was not indicative of pro-incumbency, as Congress, which is mainly focused on the success of the Bharat Jodo Yatra, was not predicted (in the exit polls) to be a major challenger in the recent conducted polling.Between 2012-2022, there were 272 wards in Delhi and three companies-NDMC, SDMC, and EDMC-that later reunified into an MCD, which officially became operational on May 22.
