LUCKNOW: A 100% land acquisition for Noida International Airport has been completed in anticipation of the project's completion in Jewar.The airport will cover 1,334 hectares of land.Nand Gopal Gupta Nandi, the UP's minister of commerce and infrastructure development, has confirmed that the land acquisition process is complete and that the construction of the airport will begin in March 2024 and be finished by October 2024.The runway and the main building of the airport are being renovated.For the project, he said, all the necessary no objection certificates (NoCs) and clearances from the Union government have been obtained.The land acquired has been given to Zurich Airport International AG, the airport's operator, according to an additional chief secretary, industries, Arvind Kumar.Kumar said that other than handing over the property to the developer, all necessary changes to the master plan and development plan were made and approved.The best part of land acquisition, he said, was that it was completed quickly and within the deadline. Kumar said that we have also received feedback from the public about the rehabilitation and settlement package, and that the citizens are happy about it.In November last year, Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone for the initiative.Officials claim that the airport will connect cities like Agra, Mathura, Gautam Budh Nagar, Aligarh, and Ghaziabad to the rest of the world.The proposed airport would also help to decongest IGI Airport in Delhi. Officials said that improving air connectivity could also contribute to the tourism sector by increasing traffic inflow at the existing tourist destinations and opening up more avenues for the construction of new tourist centers.
