Chandravadan Pithawala, a former Gujarat president of Akhil Bhartiya Koli Samaj (ABKS), supported Kunvarji Bavaliya, the former president of ABKS and MLA from Jasdan (Rajkot), on Monday, saying that he mistook his position for political gain.On May 14, he and his followers even discouraged people from attending the 50-year anniversary celebration in Surat, where the organization was held in Kamrej taluka, with invitations given to many BJP leaders and community leaders.At the festival, the participants wore saffron scarves.President Ram-nath Kovind addressed two BJP members and five MLAs, including state minister Mukesh Patel.ABKS approved a resolution to suspend him on Sunday.Kunvarjibhais had the responsibility to make the 50th anniversary celebration a success, but he did not even attend it.We learned that his associates and followers sent messages telling us not to attend the conference, Ajit Patel said.Chandravadan Pithawala, the former president of ABKS Gujarat, wrote a letter that was widely shared on social media, decribing the Bavaliyas suspension as unethical and illegal. Several leaders appeared on the dais of their political party's scarf or skull cap during this meeting.Pithawala said on Monday that the AKBS stage should not be used for political purposes and that he could not attend the gathering due to his health.Pithawalla said that Ajit Patel was to blame for Bavaliya's inefficiency because the meeting had poor attendance and suspended him.Kunvarjibhai had expelled Ajit Patel for running another parallel group of Koli Samaj in July 2021, when he was president of ABKS. Ajit Patel is regarded as the body's national president by the committee.Kunvarjibhai is associated with the Koli ethnic group, he said.Bavaliya was not available for comment.
