Siem Reap: Surrounding the ASEAN ministers, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said today that transnational and cross-border terrorism is the greatest challenge facing the world, and that the international community must intervene urgently and decisively.Singh said, As the 9th ASEAN Defence Ministers Meeting took place at Siem Reap, during the Cambodia-chaired ADMM Plus gathering.Terrorism has claimed victims around the world, and the minister emphasised how terrorist groups have established interconnections across continents backed by latest-age technologies for money transfer and recruitment.The transformation of cyber-attacks into organized cyberattacks highlights the increasing use of new technologies by State and non-State actors, according to him.He also pointed out that the Delhi Declaration, which was released last month in New Delhi, represented a significant increase in security issues following the global COVID-19 outbreak.
Singh said that a prosperous Indo-Pacific with ASEAN as its center is more crucial than ever for the world's stability and prosperity.With participation from ten ASEAN countries and eight major PLUS countries, ADMM Plus can position itself not only as a forum for regional stability but also as a catalyst for world peace.
