New Delhi: According to the National Statistical Office (NSO), the unemployment rate among people aged 15 and over in urban areas dropped to 7.8% in July-September 2022 from 9.8 percent a year ago.The latest results from the 16th Periodic Labour Force Survey (PLFS), which highlights a decrease in the unemployment rate in urban areas in April-June 2022, show that the unemployment rate among people aged 15 years and over dropped to 9.4 percent in July-September 2022 from 11.6 percent a year earlier.In April-June 2022, the unemployment rate in urban areas dropped to 6.6%, down from 9.3% a year ago.In the July-September quarter of 2022, the employment market participation rate in CWS (Current Weekly Status) for people aged 15 years and over increased to 47.9 percent from 46.9 percent in the same period a year ago.
