Thane: According to a senior police officer, a court in Maharashtra remanded Marathi actor Ketaki Chitale (29), a film and TV actress, in police custody until May 18 on Saturday for reportedly making an offensive comment on Twitter about NCP chief Sharad Pawar, whose party shares power with the Shiv Sena and Congress in Maharashtra.It contained words like hell is waiting and you hate Brahmins, allegedly referring to the NCP president.Ms Chitale was charged under Indian Penal Code Sections 500 (defamation), 501 (printing or engraving anything considered defamatory), 505 (2) (making, publishing, or circulating any record, chart, or report promoting divisions, smears, or hatred among people).
