After a 17-year-old succumbs to dengue fever, Panchkula records the first dengue death of the year.

Panchkula broke the record for the most number of cases reported in the district since the 2017 epidemic. In the ensuing years, the number of dengue cases in the region had decreased, with only 14 cases documented in 2020.

Panchkula's chief medical officer, Dr Mukta Kumar, said on Wednesday that the district's total number of dengue cases in the district crossed 500 and stood at 519 (confirmed with Elisa tests) until October 27 this year.When she first arrived, she was in jeopardy.She died within a few hours of being admitted to the hospital.On Wednesday, 220 people were admitted to the Civil Hospital and were either diagnosed as dengue cases or suspected because they had dengue-like symptoms.All private hospitals in the district were also full.Panchkula broke the record for the most number of cases reported in the district since the 2017 epidemic, according to district medical records.In the ensuing years, the number of dengue cases in the region had decreased, with only 14 cases documented in 2020.
