New Delhi (India), December 10 : The India Meteorological Department (IMD) declared on Saturday that the landfall process for Cyclonic Mandous had been completed, bringing moderate to heavy rain to coastal Tamil Nadu after the landfall.After Cyclone Mandous made landfall off the coast of Mamallapuram, it is likely to pass almost westnorthwestwards and gradually weaken into a deep depression in the next 2 hours and into a depression by noon on December, according to IMD.Many areas of Chennai are in a deep depression and are experiencing weak winds, according to S Balachandran, DDGM, RMC Chennai.It is moving toward the Northwest direction, so areas in northwest districts will see high winds of 55-65 kmph, which will decrease to 30-40 kmph by evening, according to the Greater Chennai Corporation (GCC).Especially, national disaster response forces are on standby.
