Aurangabad's anti-corruption bureau has filed a lawsuit against a 35-year-old agent who was arrested and charged with demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 2,150 to supply copies of a paper from the registrars office in Paithan, according to authorities.The sought papers were the records of an immovable asset dating back to 1991, according to ACB officials, while the accused allegedly sought and accepted a bribe of Rs 2,150 for each of the five copies requested by the complainant.He also sought Rs 500 in service charges, according to ACB inspector Shaikh Shakil, who said the accused allegedly requested Rs 2,150 as a bribe for obtaining these copies, but at the time of accepting the bribe amount, the agent became suspicious and returned the money to the complainant after accepting the amount.After the suspect agent failed to return, police chief Sandeep Atole said a case was lodged against him at the Vaijapur police station on Saturday.
