Akhilesh Yadav says Samajwadi Party workers and supporters were forced out of polling stations . The former UP CM said the government machinery on poll duty was a mute observer to the chaos .

LUCKNOW: In Azamgarh and Rampur Lok Sabha bypolls, the ruling BJP accused Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav of blatant negligence of government machinery, but said the BJP left nothing to chance to persuade Samajwadi Party workers and supporters to vote in favor of the BJP or refused them to vote at all in some places across the two constituencies. The former CM said that the government machinery on poll duty was a mute observer to the chaos despite the protests of several SP officials. The Samajwadi Party's polling staff were forced out of the polling stations in Gopalpur, Sagardi, Mubarakpur, Azamgarh, and Mehnagar assembly constituencies in Azamgarh. The BLO was frightened of the gullible voters to cast their vote in favour of the BJP candidate at the DAV degree college in Azamgarh.

In a statement released on Thursday, Akhilesh said that people were not allowed to vote in Tanda (Rampur) and that polling was suspended at various points.Despite being armed with voter ID cards supported by their respective Aadhar cards in Rampur, women voters from the minorities were forbidden from voting.According to the former UP CM, the voters in the majority of cases were also carrying the voting slip with the serial number on the voters list for which their name is registered; yet they were not allowed to vote.BJP workers grabbed their voting slips and tore them off in a few places.

According to Akhilesh, these incidents were reported from the Hardayal and Suar localities of Narpat Nagar districts in Rampur. The central forces in Narpat Nagar used baton charges to create a fear among the population and evict them.According to Akhilesh, the ruling BJP has gone to the extreme. The SP chief said that the government has failed on all fronts and is now left with no choice but to use government machinery to manipulate elections.
