Former students of AGS, Boniyar and GMC Jammu have come forward to thank the Indian Army for educating young and impressionable minds in the Kashmir Valley .
Jammu and Kashmir (India), December 9: The Army's confidence-building programmes to counter state-sponsored insurgent attempts in the Kashmir Valley and welcome the disillusioned Kashmiri youth back into the mainstream have rarely been discussed in the public domain, but former students, like Mehvish, and the daughter of a modest shopkeeper have now come forward to thank the Army for educating young and impressionable minds in the Valley.Mehvish is now completing her MBBS and attending SKIMS, Srinagar, according to an AGS alumnus Sohail Khan, who attributed his success to his hard work, determination, and discipline instilled in him during his years at AGS, Boniyar.Sohail is currently completing his BDS from GMC Baramulla and is seen as a role model in his class.Amer Aziz, a resident of Uri's remote Sultan Daki village, is also pursuing his MBBS from GMC Jammu, said he is grateful for the Indian Army's scholarship and assistance, which he considers to be a major factor in his success.
