Andhra Chief Minister Supports Droupadi Murmu in Presidential Polls

Draupadi Murmu will present her nomination papers to the presidency of Odisha on July 18 . She was the first female governor of Jharkhand .

According to a state government official statement, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy extended his support to NDA presidential candidate Draupadi Murmu on Thursday, ensuring that the SC, ST, BC, and minority groups are represented well in the cabinet.CM Jagan believes that it fits with his ongoing dedication to the upliftment of these groups, which has included the lions share of 70 percent.Ms Murmu had earlier this day met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, and BJP National President JP Nadda in Delhi, and instead, the Rajya Sabha member and party parliamentary affairs leaders Vijaysai Reddy and Lok Sabha member Midhun Reddy were on hand.On July 18, Droupadi Murmu will present her nomination papers to the presidency of Odisha as the first candidate of a major political party or alliance.

Droupadi Murmu joined the Jharkhand governorship from 2015 to 2021 after growing up in the village of Mayurbhanj, a backward district in Odisha.She studied at Shri Aurobindo Integral Education Centre, Rairangpur, where she began her political career as Vice-chairman of Rairangpur NAC.Between 2000 and 2004, Droupadi Murmu served as a member of the Odisha Legislative Assembly from Rairangpur.She held ministerial positions in Transport and Trade, Animal Husbandry, and Fisheries.

Between 1979 and 1983, she worked as a junior assistant in the Irrigation and Power Department.She has held several leadership positions in the BJP and was vice president of state ST Morcha in 1997.Droupadi Murmu was a national executive member of BJPs ST Morcha from 2013 to 2015 and served as the BJP district leader of Mayurbhanj (West) in 2010 and 2013.She was the president of BJPs ST Morcha in Odisha between 2006 and 2009.From 2002 to 2009, she served as a member of the national executive of BJP ST Morcha, and the next President of India election will begin on July 18; counting will begin on July 21.
