Araujos' World Cup readiness will be decided by Uruguay and Barcelona: Xavi

As the defender prepares for the World Cup later this month, Barcelona and Uruguay will take a joint decision on Ronald Araujo's fitness, according to La Liga club manager Xavi Hernandez.Araujo has been recovering after undergoing thigh surgery in September, and Xavi said that the 23-year-old needs to relax well rather than rush him back.Uruguay and (their coach) Diego Alonso are in fluid contact, and Xavi told reporters that we will negotiate together.Since the player is in charge, we'll see if he's medically cleared.

Alonso, who has until Nov. 14 to select his final 26-man squad for the World Cup, will also consult with Valencia striker Edinson Cavani to see if he can recover from an ankle injury before heading to Qatar.Damian Suarez, a full back who limped off 10 minutes into Getafes' 1-0 victory over Elche last week, is also a concern.Uruguay will kick off their World Cup campaign against Group H opponents South Korea on Nov. 24.They will also face Portugal and Ghana.
