SURAT: Police launched an investigation into the man who entered the Har Ghar Tiranga venue on Thursday with a pistol, at which chief minister Bhupendra Patel and other senior ministers were present.After noticing Mahesh Devani, a resident of Katargam, near the Lalbhai Contractor Stadium site, police arrested him after noticing him standing close to the dais holding the knife.Since the police compiled an anonymous case against him and signed his statement, he was allowed to proceed.According to police reports, Devani is a descendant of V D Zalavadia, a BJP MLA from Kamrej, and may have reached the venue with him because cops postponed his inspection thoroughly at the entry gate.
