Seoul (Korea) – South Korea adopted a new law on Thursday to replace the old method of calculating ages with a new one, which will make its citizens either 1 or 2 years younger on official records.The age most commonly quoted in everyday life is 00:00.A separate method for calculating the legal age to drink alcohol and smoke exists, in which the individual's age is calculated from zero at birth and a year on every birthday is added, according to Yoo Sang-bum of the ruling People Power Party, who said the change is beneficial for reducing unnecessary socioeconomic costs.
