Dr P Ashok Sigamani elected president of Tamil Nadu Cricket Association . Adam Sait elected vice president, while R I Palani, a veteran administrator, was elected honorary secretary .

CHENNAI (CHENNAI) – Dr P Ashok Sigamani, son of Tamil Nadu Minister for Higher Education K Ponmudy, was elected president of the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA) on Saturday.Since Rupa Gurunath, who became India's first woman to head a cricket association in September 2019, left the post of TNCA president vacant in December 2021.At the 90th Annual General Meeting of TNCA here, the new office bearers were elected.Dr D Chandrasekaran, a former State Election Commissioner, was appointed as the electoral officer, a former IAS officer and former IAS officer.

According to a TNCA press release, all the posts were elected unanimously in the following year.Two candidates have applied for the positions of honorary joint secretary and assistant secretary, outside of the presidency.Adam Sait was elected vice president, while R I Palani, a veteran administrator, was elected honorary secretary.Honorary joint secretary: K Shivakumar; Honorary assistant secretary: R N Baba; and Honorary treasurer: T J Srinivasaraj.

The General Body has appointed the Cricket Advisory Committee for 2022-2025, consisting of former state cricketer D Girish, S Madhavan, and former India woman cricketer Sudha Shah.TNPL Governing Council for 2022-23 also included P Anand, V Pratish Vedhapuddi, and A Jaffer Ashique Ali (cricketers representative).The General Body voted to approve the Retired First-Class Cricketer Scheme, which includes between 10 and 24 matches for Tamil Nadu, unanimously.In place of retired Justice Kannan, retired Justice Parthiban was appointed as the TNCA's Ethics officer and Ombudsman.

He also said that the emphasis should be put on the Tamil Nadu team's victory of the Ranji Trophy, which the state had only won in the 1987-88 season.
