Assam files complaints against PFI protesters and demands their expulsion

Officials claim the pan-India raids and detentions were the result of the longest ever probe into the outfit .

Guwahati: Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said Assam has filed a lawsuit against Peoples Front of India (PFI) demonstrators and urged the centre to block the organisation, which allegedly has terrorist connections.Mr Sarma said that we are investigating who started it.In a massive crackdown on the PFI, multi-agency teams led by the National Investigation Agency, or NIA, arrested 106 PFI members yesterday in near-semi-separate raids in 15 states for allegedly supporting terrorist activities.Mr Sarma said that because the PFI is spread around the region, only one state can pursue them. We're also looking at the relationship between PFI and terror cells, and that's why people are drawn into violence activities.Officials claim the pan-India raids and detentions were the result of the longest ever probe into the outfit, which has yet to be launched.
