The continuously-deferred U-17 Womens National Football Championship continued with matches in Assam as the India squad continued to prepare for the forthcoming U-17 FIFA World Cup, which will be hosted by India, by participating in a European four-nation tournament.Despite losing a 1-2 draw against Gujarat in their match at Dimakuchi Stadium on Thursday, the hosts leapt onto second place in Group G. But group leaders Chhattisgarh maintained their position with a 3-0 victory over Uttar Pradesh, taking their total to four points, but with a better goal difference than Mizoram.Ripika Korram (18,45+4) scored a brace for the winners, while Bindu Telam (90+4) added to the scoring late in injury time.In the Group D match at Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium practice ground, Arunachal Pradesh and Himachal Pradesh met out a 1-1 draw.Although the first half was goalless, Angel Tamang gave Arunachal the lead in the 52nd minute.

Sikkim defeated Goa 2-1 in the other Group D game of the day.Goa took an early lead, but Sikkim earned all three points thanks to Simran Gurung (13) and Priya Chhetri (51).Arunachal Pradesh stayed in the top of the standings with four points, while Sikkim came in second with three points out of their two matches so far.Himachal Pradesh and Goa took the third and fourth positions, respectively, with two and one point.
