Himanta Biswa Sarma said he had wasted 22 years of my life in the Congress .
Guwahati: Chief Minister of Assam Himanta Biswa Sarma today said he did not make a fundamental shift when he left the Congress for the BJP, and that he had wasted 22 years of my life in the Congress. In an interview with a fellow BJP official, he said, We salute the country in the BJP.He said, We have many reasons in our state. He argued that riots and other violence have been justified by a BJP line on a particular area, including a love jihad twist to the alleged murder of a Hindu woman, Shraddha Walkar, in Delhi by her Muslim boyfriend, Aaftab Poonawala, in 2002.Hindus are a peace-loving community, according to Mr Sarma, and how he could be making the same claims if he were still with the Congress.
Mr Sarma's sage words about Saddam Hussein were read as a retort to Mr Gandhi and his party for operating in what the BJP has traditionally characterized as Muslim appeasement politics.
