New Delhi (India), November 30: A drone was shot down during a prime minister Narendra Modis rally in Gujarat on Thursday, according to a senior officer of the National Security Guards (NSG), who said that they had deployed anti-drone guns in public rallies of VIPs including the Prime Minister, Home Minister, Defense Minister, UP CM Yogi Adityanath, and other NSG protectees visiting the state during the election.They were used in UP elections the last time, and they proved to be extremely useful to shield VIPs from any aerial attack, he said.A trained team of NSG stayed on the premises during public meetings and rallies attended by VIPs, and they also held tabs on any aerial obstacle.However, district authorities in Ahmedabad have also issued orders regarding drone restrictions at public rallies of VIPs, citing security risks.
