Bengaluru's Nagasandra Metro station saw a rise in foot traffic as a result of the Ikea influence

On Wednesday, Nagasandra Metro stations daily footfall increased by 5,467 . Ikea is also constructing a foot-over-bridge (FoB) from its store to the station on Tumakuru Road .

BENGALURU: On Wednesday, the day that Swedish home furnishings store Ikea opened, Nagasandra Metro stations' daily footfall increased by 5,467.On the Green Line, Ikea is located behind Nagasandra Metro station.According to BMRCL reports, daily footfall at Nagasandra increased from 13,799 on Tuesday to 19,266 on Wednesday.Yashavanth Chavan, the head of the BMRCL, said that the footfall patterns at Nagasandra station are being monitored, particularly on weekends.

By December 2022, the FoB, which will enable direct connection between the station and the Ikea store, is expected to be completed.BMRCL generated Rs 251 crore in 2017 by leasing 13 acres to Ikea India Pvt Ltd near Nagasandra on Tumakuru Road for 60 years.
