He said that the state cabinet has decided to reserve 2% of Grade-I and II posts for ex-army.He said that the Assam Power Distribution Corporation Ltd (APDCL) and ONGC will work together to implement a 250 MW solar power project for which the state cabinet has approved Rs 285 crore.40 lakh more residents of the state will receive ration cards.In Lakhimpur, the 3rd Assam Forest Battalion will be formed and 1100 new positions will be added.In the forest department, there will be 1700 vacant positions.Before December 30, the education department would advertise for filling up 6,000-7,000 regular and contractual positions, or 530 contractual positions in the education department. The state cabinet also confirmed the renaming of the Assam Police Academy, Dergaon, as Lachit Borphukan Police Academy, Dergaon.
