Biplab Kumar Deb, the states Chief Minister, resigned on Saturday . Manik Saha was later elected as the new Chief Minister of State .

Agartala (Tripura) India, May 15: Biplab Kumar Deb, the state's Chief Minister, resigned on Saturday and said he would work as a common man for the BJP in the region to reclaim control.I have worked for the organisation under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership and direction. As the leader of the state unit of the party and the CM, I have tried to do justice to the people of Tripura.I have tried to foster stability and growth while steering the region out of the COVID crisis.

Deb said he was bemoaning the demise of office because there is a time limit for all.We are capable of serving in any position, be it as a Chief Minister or as an ordinary BJP worker.I need to work at the grassroots level in several directions in order to establish the BJP's base in the state.I should instead be in the position of a CM to form a BJP government again in the coming assembly elections, he said.

I have fully supported my state and will always work for the benefit of my state.Tripura will surely march forward in the direction of the devt.Jai Hind, he said.Forget the BJP and Deb's re-election in the election year, he said. But, it does not mean you will find a place in the hearts of the people of #Tripura, according to Trinamool Congress MP Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar.Enough harm has been done.

BJP people are bewildered by what @AITCofficial achieved in the state, as shown by the following video.A CHANGE IS IMPOSSIBLE, according to a tweet from the Trinamool Congress. In 2018, Deb took the oath as the state's first Chief Minister of Bharatiya Janata Party, ending the Communist Party of India's 25-year reign in Tripura.
