NEW DELHI: The BJP cited recent incidents of horrific crime in Bihar and the alleged involvement of some of the state ministers in corruption on Thursday to demonstrate that criminals have become fearless since the grand alliance was established.Ravi Shankar Prasad, the former Union minister and BJP leader, reported that two people were shot in Patna, his Lok Sabha constituency, in the last 24 hours when he fired at chief minister Nitish Kumar. These are not ordinary crimes and show how emboldened criminals have become in the state within days of the new government taking office, he told reporters. One can only imagine where the state is heading if this is the case in the state capital, according to him.

He also slammed the government for reportedly involved in a kidnapping case, claiming that Bihar agriculture minister Kartikeya Singh was involved in a rice smear.According to Singh's counsel, the police investigation found no evidence against him.Prasad denied the charge and said the Patna high court rejected the RJD leaders' request for anticipatory bail in 2017 by observing that the complaints statement emphasizes his involvement in the abduction.According to him, the judge had asked him to surrender and to request regular bail, accusing the police of trying to rescue him after the JD(U)-RJD-Congress coalition established the government.

When asked about the BJP's charge, he told reporters in Patna, I will respond at an appropriate time. They are saying a lot.I am just going to tell people that the pace of change under the new regime will be faster than ever before.According to Prasad, the police's defense of Karikeya Singh has sent out a warning to criminals that they will break the rules and that police will not intervene.

After one of his party MLAs, Bima Bharti, confronted him for naming Leshi Singh as minister, he also took a shot at JD(U) leader Kumar.According to him, within the clan has started infighting.
