The Anti-Corruption Bureau said on Thursday that a block education officer (BEO) and the office superintendent at the Education Department's BEO office were allegedly caught red-handed after receiving money from a complainant in HD Kote on Thursday.Following a complaint by a schoolteacher who had left the ACB two months earlier, the investigators snooped in.According to ACB Superintendent of Police VJ Sajeeth, a group of BEO staff had demanded Rs 9,000 from the retired teacher to maintain records of the retirement benefits.According to the SP, HD Kote BEO M Chandrakanth and Office Superintendent Shankar were apprehended soon after they reportedly received Rs 5,000 and Rs 2,000 respectively from the retired teacher.
