BSF opens a webpage for online reservations for the Beating Retreat Ceremony at the border with Attari

Border Security Force releases website for free seating reservations for Beating Retreat Ceremony . JCP Attari is located about 27 km south of Amritsar on the International Border between India and Pakistan .

Amritsar (Punjab), December 8, 2018: The Border Security Force (BSF) has released a website and started accepting online bookings for visitors to attend the Beating Retreat Ceremony at JCP Attari in Amritsar, according to a statement issued by the National Informatics Center (NIC), which is led by Ashok Kumar Agrawal, HOD (MHA), Scientist.According to a statement released by the Director General of the Border Security Force, this website was solely designed for free seating reservations on-line for attending the Retreat Ceremony at Attari, Amritsar.Starting from January 1, 2023, seats will be reserved.Seat reservations will be made available 48 hours ahead of the scheduled visit, OTP enabled registration will authenticate the visitor and a QR code will be generated for easier identification, according to the organization.

Since the daily operation of the Joint Retreat Parade between the BSF and Pak Rangers, it has been a major tourist attraction.The Retreat Ceremony is a traditional ceremony performed by the fighting troops after their combat, sheathe their weapons, and retreat from the battlefield after sunset.It is to be noted that every day, over 20,000 people attend JCP Attari to see this spectacular parade.After the Indian and Pakistan governments agreed on the same, the Retreat ceremony, which is held by troops from the BSF and Pakistan Rangers at JCP Attari, Amritsar, began in 1959.

From the 01st of December 1965 onwards, the BSF continued this tradition of the Retreat ceremony.
