Bangkok, December 7: In the first round of the BWF World Tour Finals 2022 in Bangkok, Indias star shuttler HS Prannoy was defeated by Japanese badminton player Kodai Naraoka.In a Group A match that lasted an hour, HS Prannoy, the 12th in the country, was defeated by the world No.14 Japanese shuttler 21-12, 9-21, and 21-17.According to the Olympics website, Kodai Naraoka was faster and led Prannoy 11-6 at the half.

After being tied at 3-3 and putting the game at 1-1, HS Prannoy won seven points in a row, and then leveled the match.The Indian badminton player increased his attacks and led the decisive set 7-5.Despite being unable to take the lead, Prannoy levelled three times in the final.Nonetheless, Kodai Naraokas cross-court shots from the net gave him an 11-9 advantage into the half.
