New Delhi, India (India), December 10: On Friday, Union Sports Minister Anurag Thakur announced that 1,000 Khelo India centers would be opened all over the region by August 15 next year.During the continuing Winter Session of the Assembly, the minister appeared in Lok Sabha.By August 2023, 1000 Khelo India centres will be open throughout the region.In Lok Sabha, Thakur said that 733 of the 1,000 centres have already been sanctioned.
When the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports' budget was Rs 1,219 crore in 2014, it had risen to 3,062 crore for the year 2022-23, which was about three times more, according to the minister.Thakur outlined some of Indias greatest sporting achievements since the emergence of the Modi government in 2014.We earned our most medals in the Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics 2020, seven and 19.For the first time, India has clinched the Thomas Cup badminton title. Thakur said that 12 national records were broken during the recently concluded Khelo India Youth Games, out of which 11 were broken by our daughters.The Parliament's Winter Session began on December 7 and will last 17 days.
