By Shyma RaufBENGALURU: According to Union minister of state for railways Darshana Jardosh, India's semi-high-speed Vande Bharat Express will operate between Bengaluru and Hubbali by March 2023.She attended a meeting with Karnataka MPs on railway-related topics.The entire Hubballi-Bengaluru route will be doubled by February-March 2023 with the completion of the doubled Hubballi-Chikjajur route this year.According to her, Vande Bharat Express will run between the two cities once the works are completed.

According to him, close co-ordination and synergy with the state government are being maintained to ensure the proper execution of projects, particularly under PM-Gati Shakti in Karnataka.Major routes such as Hubballi-Chikjajur (190Km), Londa-Miraj (188Km), and Gadag-Hotgi (284Km) are being doubling, according to Jardosh.Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced on June 20 that the double of Arsikere- Tumakuru (96 kilometers) and Yelahanka-Penukonda (120 kilometers) sections would be completed.According to her, the average speed of goods trains has increased by 60% this year due to the improvement of large sections.

According to her, 14 electrification schemes (1.565 kilometers) are also being implemented.According to Jardosh, nearly 48% of the SWR has been electrified.The first (512 route Km) electricity was completed in 2021-2022.This year, it is planned to complete 1,157 kilometers of electrification.

At 29 stations in Karnataka, one station, one product stand have been launched.SWR is in the third position for maintaining the correct timing of trains across all zones.According to Jardosh, the SWR also installed solar panels on 128 stations, 306 level crossing gates, as well as service buildings and office buildings (total 4535 kWp installed capacity of solar).
