Case involving disproportionate assets: MP official and his family are charged with impeding the functioning of EOWs

BHOPAL (Bhopal): Hero Keswani, a senior clerk of the medical education department, and his family were arrested on Friday for blocking the EOW from conducting searches at their residential premises.The investigating officer lodged a lawsuit with Bairagarh police station, in which Hero, his wife, and their two sons, Kamlesh and Mohit, were apprehended under Sections 186 (where the accused obstructs a public servant in the exercise of his public duties) and 353 (assault or use of violent force while the public servant is performing his duty as such is permissible).Following allegations of disproportionate income, the EOW conducted searches of his premises on Thursday.Keswani, 54, had to be hospitalized after using a floor cleaning agent with the intention of suicide.

An assault on him will also be recorded.Cash worth almost Rs 85 lakh was confiscated and searches were resumed.In the presence of his wife and two children, further operations were carried out.In their home, six houses and agreements of many other properties were discovered.
