Case involving Rs. 31 crore in NPA: CIC adjourns second appeal's final hearing

New Delhi has cancelled and postponed the Final Hearing of the 2nd Appeal, which is a significant development in relation to the famous Rs 31 Crores NPA of Ms Himgiri Infrastructure Development (P) Ltd from J&K Bank Ltd for funding the 3 MW Hydel Project (SAL-II) at village Sahoo (Chamba, Himachal Pradesh.Advocate Irtiza Mushtaq appeared before the PIO, J&K Bank Ltd. on September 28, 2020, where he inquired about the current status of the accounts held by the Link Road Branch of J&K Bank Ltd., whose promoters include Dr. Nirmal Singh, Kavinder Gupta (both former Deputy CMs, J&K), Jugal Kishore Sharma (Member of Parliament), and others.Irtiza Mushtaq, a Jammu based lawyer, filed a petition before the CIC in December, 2020, arguing that the PIO, J&K Bank Ltd, Zonal Office, Jammu Central-1, denied information on October 29th, 2020, and was later confirmed by the First Appellate Authority of the J&K Bank on November 23rd, 2020.The appellant had received an SMS from CIC advising him that the hearing had been postponed and cancelled, and on request from the concerned CIC Registry official, the appellant was informed that the Final Hearing of the 2nd Appeal had to be cancelled and postponed in J&K due to the Public Holiday on September 23rd,2022, and that the NIC Studio had informed the CIC that the hearing would be held at the NIC Studio.

However, the CIC's hearing in the case was cancelled due to the public holiday in J&K, and the appellant has been notified that the next date of hearing the matter will be announced separately later today.
