CBI summons 9 TMC members after post-election violence

The CBI summoned nine TMC members, including party leader Abu Taher, on Saturday, in connection with a case of post-poll violence in Nandigram.The central investigating agency asked them to appear at their temporary office in Haldia in connection with the investigation.Taher, on the other hand, evaded the summons.Following the release of the Assembly poll results on May 3, 2013, attacks were suspected to have been launched at Nandigram in several places.

He was admitted to a Kolkata hospital but died on May 13 from his injuries.The CBI, which was enacted by the Calcutta High Court to prosecute post-poll violence cases, opened a probe into this particular crime case.Taher said, Quizzed on his evading CBI summonses.They were called in the name of an investigation.

They are now planning to do the same with the (TMC) officials in Nandigram.Suvendu Adhikari claimed to have assembled a list of 100 names earlier this year.Since he made the claim, the CBI has been eulogizing summonses.
