In response to a query in Lok Sabha, Minister of State for External Affairs V Muraleedharan said that Pakistan has received regular attacks on minority communities and their places of religious worship in the country, and that it has taken steps to safeguard and promote their safety, stability, and well-being.According to Muraleedharan, the Pakistani government has also been urged to take immediate measures to bring the perpetrators of such crimes to justice.The issue of Indian prisoners detained in Pakistan is of utmost importance to the government.Pakistan admitted to the detention of 49 civilian prisoners and 633 fishermen who are Indians or alleged to be Indians on July 2022, according to Muraleedharan.
According to statistics published by the ministry, India has successfully secured the release and repatriation of more than 2,700 Indian prisoners from Pakistan's jails, including 448 Indian nationals, according to Muraleedharan.
