New Delhi: According to a senior government official, the Indian government is expected to increase its funding to the rural development ministry by 16% to 1.60 trillion Indian rupees ($14.19 billion) for the current fiscal year, partly to address the country's only minimum job guarantee scheme, which pays $2 to $3 per day, according to the official, who declined to be identified because the details were yet to be released.According to data from the Center for Monitoring Indian Economy (CMIE), a private think tank, the Asian countries' rural areas were under pressure as a result of the pandemic.According to data, the government is expected to seek permission for these additional funds in the next parliament session, which begins on Dec. 7.
