New Delhi, India, December 9, : According to a ministry statement, the government has taken several steps to reduce import dependence, including the development of export monitoring schemes, which include the development of production-linked incentives (PLI) schemes, phased manufacturing plans, timely use of trade remedy plans, adoption of stringent technical requirements, enforcement of free trade agreements (FTA) Rules of Origin (RoO), and the establishment of an import control scheme.Since March 7, 2019, the RoSCTL scheme for labour-oriented textile export has been implemented, a Common Digital Platform for certificate of origin has been implemented, and a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) scheme was launched, according to the statement.The ministry also announced that 12 champion services sectors have been established for promoting and diversifying services exports by targeting bottlenecks for exporting these products and supporting local exporters and manufacturers to generate jobs in the region.
