Central Vista: Modi inaugurates the new Commerce Ministry offices

New Delhi (New Delhi)-Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated Vanijya Bhavan on Thursday, the new headquarters of the commerce ministry that has been constructed near the India Gate.As the Central Vista project is complete, the eco-friendly building will be a key feature of the new landscape of Lutyens Delhi.Modi said that although initiatives were initially announced for the sake of political curiosity, there were no guarantees regarding their completion.They were not optimistic about the completion of the projects.

The Prime Minister's declarations said that the government's initiatives were completed on schedule and that the actions that achieved their objectives were nothing but respect for the country's taxpayers.The building's foundation was laid on June 22, 2018.However, it was postponed due to several reasons, including the Covid-19 pandemic.The building has been constructed on a 4.4-acre plot and has been constructed using materials such as Dholpur and Agra sandstones.

The office complex has been designed as a smart building that respects the spirit of sustainable architecture with a special emphasis on energy conservation.It will function as a dual-purpose office complex that will be used by the two departments under the commerce ministry.Around 1,000 officers and other workers will be housed in the building.It will be a completely paperless office with modern amenities like intelligent entrance control, video collaboration, and fully networked equipment.
